Provincetown Galleries
Provincetown is the nation’s first plein-air art colony, established more than a century ago by Charles Hawthorne.
True to that tradition, every Friday night the east end of town comes alive with art gallery openings. For decades, painters
and sculptors have set up studios here, with the well known Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center just one of several excellent
local institutions carrying on that heritage.
